. Fabrication & Welding

Our welding activities involve processes that join materials, usually metals or thermoplastics. This is often achieved by heating the surfaces to the point of melting using a blowtorch, electric arc or other means and uniting them by pressing and hammering etc. This could be achieved with some of the following methods:

Gas metal arc welding: this uses a wire feeding gun that feeds wire at a speed that could be regulated and sprays a shielding gas which usually consists of argon over the weld puddle to protect it from unwanted contamination Shielded metal arc welding: this utilizes an electrode that has a flux. The electrode holder holds the electrode as it gradually melts away. Here, slag protects the weld puddle from atmospheric contamination
